How to make a Vitamin C Rocket

You probably have Vitamin C tablets at home, if not you need some, but if you have effervescent ones, you can even use them to make pocket rockets. Vitamin C rockets get their propulsion from carbon dioxide bubbles that provide the thrust necessary to lift them off into the air. It’s quite simple, really. The more fizz, the more bang!

MATERIALS NEEDED
- 1 empty bottle with lid
- 1 Vitamin C tablet (makes 2 rockets)
- Water
- Scissors
- Clear tape
STEPS
- Decorate
your rocket: You can turn your bottle into a
decorated mini rocket, by making a cone, Roll paper into a cone. Use tape to hold
paper in place and use tape to fasten the cone to the coke. To make fins, cut
out triangular like shapes out of the cardboard, and attach to rocket using
small pieces of tape. (optional)Do not allow the fins to touch the ground.
- Holding the bottle upright, fill it 1/3 with water
- Add 1/2 tablet of effervescent Vitamin C. -
- Close the lid tightly on the bottle. -
- Time to launch! Lay the rocket on the grass and wait for 20 to 30 seconds.
